ZGODOVINA

Združenje je pravni naslednik dosedanje Sekcije pnevmologov SZD kot organizacijske enote SZD, v vsebinskem smislu pa nadaljuje pravno nasledstvo in tradicijo Zdravniškega bralnega društva v Ljubljani, ustanovljenega 28. oktobra 1861, ki se je 22. decembra 1862 preimenovalo v Društvo zdravnikov na Kranjskem, 2. novembra 1918 v Slovensko zdravniško društvo in 16. maja 1980 na občnem zboru v Slovensko zdravniško društvo – Zvezo zdravniških društev.

HISTORY

Slovenian Respiratory Society is the successor of the previous Pneumologists’ Section of SMA. It remains an organisational part of SMA today. In terms of its purpose and mission, it continues the legal succession and tradition of the Medical Reading Association from Ljubljana which was established on October 28, 1861 and renamed to Association of Doctors of Carniola on December 22, 1862. It then again renamed to Slovenian Medical Association on November 2, 1918. On May 16, 1980, the Association changed its name to its present name which is Slovenian Medical Association – Union of Medical Associations.
